More photos

I have took even more photos , however, i will only consider a couple of these to be on the main cover, the reason for this is because they don't fit in with the genre. i feel i need to take more versatile photo's before i can pick my final image. i also need to take a few photos for my contents page and double page spread.

Photographs

As you can see i have have took some photos for my main image on the front cover. These photographs are unedited so i will experiment with them to create a edge so they will fit with my genre. However, i will need to take more photographs before i can choose the mock up image.

Masthead ideas

I have made three mastheads , they are all different styles for "Unplugged". They have different effects , however i will experiment with all of them when i make the mock up of the front cover.

Magazine Draft

Front cover:

This gave me an idea of layout and spacing in for my front cover of my magazine.

Contents :

This also gave me an idea of spacing and layout, it showed me how much i could fit on the page.

Double page spread:

This showed me how much i could fit on the double page, it also gave me an idea of the layout i could use.

They are not detailed because i wanted to see how much i could fit on each page, it gave me an idea of spacement and layout for my mock up.

Masthead name ideas

I have decided that my magazine will be a indie magazine. This means i will have to create a name which will relate to the target audience.

My first idea was "Wired" , i felt that the name fitted with the genre well and it could associate with the type of music inside the magazine. However, a draw back from this is that people thought it sounded like a dance magazine and another magazine had a similar name. My next idea was "Unplugged", it got a great response of people and it sounded and fitted in with the genre perfectly.

Double page Article

I have been looking at the different types of double page spread that are featured in music magazines. After analysis some of the articles I have come up with some articles that come up in every magazine. These articles are:

Artist Feature
Artist interviews
Questions and answers
Song and Album Reviews
Live Music reviews
Adverts
Non music reviews

I have decided that my genre will be an indie magazine like NME; the reason for this is because I enjoy the music and the most people liked it from my primary research (questionnaire).

I haven’t finalised the article that I am going to use for my article but I have decided that I will choose from Artist feature, Q&A and Artist interview as I feel they will be most successful.

Questionnaire Results
